We have 3200+ bolts of beautiful and highest quality quilting fabrics—including one of the largest selections of "reproductions" and "vintage" fabrics in western Washington. Wild Rose offers a wide selection of quilt kits, quilting notions, books & patterns. In addition, you'll find first rate instructors in our classes sharing their skills and knowledge for all experience levels of quilters.
We also have a spectacular Retreat Center with 5 sleeping rooms to accommodate 10 Quilters… full kitchen facilities… spacious work area...and a powered lift to get your heavy equipment upstairs! Call us at 360-893-0202 to book your retreat! OR, click on the RETREATS tab at the top of this page where you can get more information. 3 Day/2 Night Paper Piecing Retreat!
That's right...on Friday January 3 through Sunday January 5, 2014, we're having a Paper Piecing Retreat featuring Judy Niemeyer's pattern "Dragon Star." This will be taught by our very own Donna Hoyt, a Certified Judy Niemeyer Instructor-In-Training. You'll sew, learn Judy's short cut tips and tricks and Donna will demo throughout the 3 day retreat. And you'll stay right here at The Wild Rose Quilt Shop & Retreat! Friday and Saturday dinners are included, 3 days of fun and instruction with Donna, a great quilt shop downstairs (10% discount on purchases made during your retreat), and snacks (ooooh, chocolate!!) Best of all, you'll make new quilting friends! This is not a beginning paper piecing class, but one for those who are experienced paper piecers or have experience with Judy Niemeyer's paper piecing techniques.
Put Your Tuffet Together Session!
Ok, now you know how to make a tuffet top, but need help putting it all together (with John and the power tools). We're having a Put-It-All-Together class on Sunday December 15 from Noon - 3pm. Bring your completed tuffet top(s) and order as many kits as you need (all the innards - $75) so we've got kits cut and ready to go. Let us know if you want 4 feet for your tuffet, too ($30).
We are starting some cool Block of the Month programs in January and will continue adding BOMs to our calendar. It's nice to have them spread out a little! Check our website BOM page here: Block of the Month Programs
Downton Abbey Mystery Quilt Starts in February!
How fun for Downton Abbey fans and especially those who love the Dowager Countess (played by the fabulous Maggie Smith!) We've got a 4-part Mystery Quilt program starting in February that uses 4 fabrics from Andover Fabrics' "Downton Abbey" collection (Dowager Countess). This is not a Mystery Quilt by E-mail like we've had in the past, but you can participate by mail. We will mail your fabric and clue every other Friday for 2 months (4 clues).
More info will be posted, like the starting date, when we know for sure when the fabric will arrive in our store. The cost is $27 and includes 4 clues, the complete pattern at the end and all the fabric for the top and binding. The lap size finishes at 60" x 80" and the pattern has directions and fabric requirements to make it bigger, if you wish. Backing fabric (the cream fabric with the Downton Abbey castle printed on it) will be available at a discounted price for Mystery Quilt participants.
The Dowager Countess fabrics are the first 7 in the collection toward the bottom of the page. We are adding 2 other fabrics from different manufacturers because we needed more contrast for your quilt to look amazing!! Stay tuned for more information.
